Sharewear helping Funeralcare families

Last updated: 31 January, 2022

Clothing poverty has many faces and there are countless ways in which it impacts people’s lives.

Sharewear Charity provide emergency clothing, shoes and bedding to vulnerable people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. They operate with over 50 volunteers and 10 trustees.

Member Pioneer Helen Lee found out about the charity and its work through her network. She arranged a meeting to find out what they did and how she might be able to offer support. She immediately saw an opportunity to bring together the charity and Sherwood Funeralcare to see how they could work together.

This introduction enabled Sherwood Funeralcare to learn more about the amazing work Sharewear do. The branch now refers its clients who might need appropriate clothing to attend a funeral.
