Scouts put leftover food to good use

Last updated: 6 April, 2022

In true Scouts spirit, Carlisle Co-op Member Pioneer, Laura, is helping to redistribute leftover food to people in need.

While working with her local Scouts group, Laura noticed that there was a lot of leftover food at the end of each camp weekend. She set out to change this.

Laura has started to gather the food together to donate to the city foodbank.

At the next Scout camp, Laura set up a food collection point, so it’s now a standard part of each camp weekend.

The donations have been so successful that other groups who use the Scouts centre are also donating leftover food.
