Helping families through cancer

We’ve supported children and young people during the coronavirus pandemic whose parents are undergoing cancer treatment.

Last updated: 4 June, 2020

We’ve done this by sending support packages and activities as respite for the children from seeing Mum or Dad's side effect of treatment. Things like board games, puzzles, arts and crafts, Lego, gaming/tv/music subscriptions for teenagers.

The feedback has been amazing:

"It’s been nice to just take myself off to my room and watch TV thanks to my Netflix subscription and just forget everything that's going on at home through the coronavirus and what my Dad is going through with cancer treatment right now." 15-year-old boy

"Thanks for much for sending lockdown activities. The kids are seeing what we go through more each day as they’re not in school and we can't hide it like we have in the past. Giving them something to take their mind off seeing us so poorly has been a god send." Mum currently going through chemotherapy treatment
