Everyone’s a star at Steel Valley Beacon Arts

Last updated: 9 June, 2022

Steel Valley Beacon Arts was founded in 1999 and is now a charity. We welcome people of all abilities and ages from 4 to 80 and beyond.

Together, we prepare and present a variety of high-quality shows whether it’s pantomime or Shakespeare. All under the direction of professional artistic and musical directors.

We involve everyone who would like to be. We have no 'stars'. Some shows include just the juniors, our teenagers or just adults. But most commonly it's all-in-together. We believe this has a positive effect on community cohesion. We have fun, challenge each other and feel the rewards.

We offer the opportunity to discover and develop talent both onstage and behind the scenes. We believe these are great ways to build confidence.

A small army of valued volunteers help with administration, set building, sound, lighting, costumes and more. We welcome any offers to join them.

We managed to maintain virtual rehearsals through Zoom during the worst of the pandemic. Several people expressed gratitude for this continuing contact.    Some members have gone on to employment in jobs using skills developed at 'The Beacon'. Others get great satisfaction staying with the organization they love. Members pay a monthly fee which can always be waived if needed.
